One of the cool things about Warped tour is the diversity of the line up. Punk, metal, hardcore and everything in between. With that said we usually gravitate towards the old school punk stages, well until a couple of years ago anyway, and the metal stages because we like our tunes heavy. With the exception of The Black Dahlia Murder, I wasn’t too familiar with most of the bands except their generous usage of blast beats and breakdowns.

Yet every once in a while a band surprises us and this year that band was The Chariot. Wow. From everything that I read they were a “Christian” band and that turned me off a little. However, they put on one of the best shows of the day.    Led by the original Norma Jean singer Josh Scogin The Chariot’s performance is must see this summer.

Towards the end of the set guitarist Stephen “Stevis” Harrison jumped into the crowd and made his way to the mosh pit with guitar in hand. Stevis did a couple of laps, yes he is still playing, then suddenly fell to his knees Jimmy Hendrix style. Silhouetted by two security guards, most fans kept their distance enthralled as they witnessed a rare pit performance. The first and only time I had seen this was the Gallows at Warped a couple of years ago. With camera in hand we were able to catch this intimate moment. Enjoy.

One Wing is the fifth studio album by the American rock band The Chariot. The album was released on August 28, 2012 through Good Fight Entertainment and E1 Music. One Wing has been described by the band as being their “weirdest” release to date. The album debuted at number 85 on the Billboard 200, their highest position so far.
