The Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival will kick off its seventh annual tour across North America this Saturday in San Bernardino, California. Since 2008, the Mayhem Fest has paraded well over a dozen metal bands each summer around the United States and Canada and has become the summer’s premiere metal festival with the recent absence of Ozzfest. The tour spans over a month and hits twenty-eight cities across America unleashing an unforgiving assault on the senses with deafening speakers and energetic pits of roaring metalheads.

Each year, Mayhem promises a lineup that includes many of metal’s most revered and relevant bands. Past headliners include Marilyn Manson, Lamb of God, Megadeth, Motörhead, Mastodon, and Disturbed. The only acts to headline multiple summers have been Rob Zombie, Slipknot and Slayer; all definite crowd favorites. Last year, the main stage consisted of Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch, Mastodon, and Amon Amarth.

This year, the Mayhem Festival will feature four stages “including the Rockstar Energy Drink Main Stage, Coldcock American Herbal Whiskey Stage, The Headbang for the Highway/Sumerian Stage and the Victory Records Stage”. On these four stages, about twenty metal bands will be performing until the sun goes down on the all-day festival.

This summer’s edition of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival will feature a variety of metal bands across its four stages. Each stage consists of an average of five bands per show. Performing on the Victory Records stage this year is Emmure, Ill Niño, Wretched, Islander, and Erimha.

The Headbang for the Highway/Sumerian Stage will feature a local “Headband for the Highway” winner along with familiar names such as Upon a Burning Body, Veil of Maya, Darkest Hour and perhaps the tour’s most pleasant surprise Body Count with Ice-T.

On the Coldcock American Herbal Whiskey Stage, King 810, Texas Hippie Coalition, Mushroomhead, Miss May I will be performing before stage headliners Suicide Silence and Cannibal Corpse.

Headlining the main stage will be industry juggernauts Avenged Sevenfold along with Mayhem Fest alumni Korn, Asking Alexandria and Trivium.

Mayhem Festival runs throughout July into the beginning of August. The first date is scheduled for this Saturday July 5th, at the San Manuel Amphitheater in San Bernardino, California. The tour will eventually make its way to the east coast before settling down in Texas on the tenth of August.
