The lucky few that got in to this very intimate show were treated to an hour long set celebrating the trio’s 20th anniversary. The Philly alt-hip hop trio ripped through classics “Baby Got Sauce”, I-76, “Cold Beverages” along with cuts from 2014’s Sugar (Brush Fire Records), “The Come Up Man” Nightlife & “Nothing Like Coming Home” that showcased the trio’s unique approach to Chicago blues, slide-guitar rock with a dash of hip of hop, which were the real gems of the evening. G. Love and Special Sauce is G. Love (aka Garrett Dutton), upright bassist James “Jimi Jazz” Prescott, and drummer Jeffrey “The Houseman” Clemens.

Don’t worry if you were able to get in, G. Love will be back in the Bay Area in January in Santa Cruz, Sacramento, and San Francisco. For full tour dates click here or go to philadelphonic.com/tour
