The 2011 ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK MAYHEM FESTIVAL wrapped up its bludgeoning streak through the country last week, but before the fest was finished, several of this year’s festival artists took to the mainstage in Dallas, TX to perform a special tribute to Dimebag Darrell by performing Pantera’s ‘Walk’.

Stubble caught up with Suicide Silence guitarist Mark on the second stop of the Rock Star Mayhem in Mountain View California moments after their crushing set on the Revolver side stage. The boys from Riverside did not disappoint as they rampaged through fan favorites Wake Up, Unanswered, Disengage and No Pity for a Coward as well as three new tracks off of “The Black Crown” (Fuck Everything, You Only Live Once, and Slave To Substance).

In 1973 Kiss built a global army around kabuki style make up and their love for rock ‘n’ roll. Little did they know that they had just given birth to four of the most recognizable larger than life characters rock has ever known. Nearly 40 years later Black Veil Brides from Hollywood CA are attempting to do the same thing. Taking the metal world by storm in 2010 with “We Stitch These Wounds” (Billboard #36) and their latest release “Set the World on Fire” (Billboard #17) BVB are creating their own army. Stubble spent some time with drummer Christian “CC” Coma at the Vans Warped Tour ’11 Mountain View CA stop, and talked about starting the tour, his musical influences, beer for breakfast, and more.
